Alarm Ordinance Unit STRONGLY suggests you check the address where the alarm system is installed by using the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser's web site. This is to ensure the address you want to use is contained within the Miami city limits

Click on 'Miami-Dade Property Appraiser' link. When the page is displayed, enter the address and hopefully you will receive some information regarding the address

If the address you enter cannot be located, then you will want to call the Alarm Ordinance Unit for help

You need to look closely at the FOLIO: that is displayed near the top of the Property Information box on the left side of the page

If the number displayed begins with 01, the address is contained within the Miami city limits. Click the 'Continue to Registration' link if you still wish to register your alarm system

If the number displayed begins with any other value (that is, not 01), click on the 'Folio Number Info' link. When that page is displayed, click on the 'Guide to Municipal Codes' link to determine what municipality you should contact. Use the first 2 digits of the folio number to find your municipality of interest
