Alarm Activations Overview
fines and fees are set in the city of miami burglary & robbery alarm ordinance, section 3-23

A permit for a registered alarm system is valid from October 1st through the following September 30th.
For this document, this time span will be known as the permit year
Non-Invoiced False Alarms
These activations apply to a registered alarm system with a valid permit

The first 2 false alarm activations in a permit year will not be invoiced. For these types of activations, you will be notified by a ‘False Alarm Activation Notice’ sent in the US mail

The 1st and 2nd false alarm activations do not stop the MPD from responding to future activations within the permit year
